Lockton Companies Australia CEO Adam Rhodes has stepped down to become MD of Aboriginal-owned Origin Insurance Brokers.

Origin, an authorised representative of Lockton, is Australia’s first Aboriginal-owned corporate insurance broker.

The company this year received certification from Supply Nation, which promotes indigenous business.

Mr Rhodes, who has more than two decades’ insurance experience, will drive the growth and development of Origin with CEO David Liddiard.

Alex Shead will continue to chair Lockton, with Paul Marsden, Warren Merritt, Gareth Jones and Paul Bradley taking on the responsibilities previously held by Mr Rhodes, who will remain a director.

The Origin appointment took effect on Friday.
