Lloyd’s welcomes Aon retail link
Aon initiatives aimed at increasing retail buyers’ access to Lloyd’s syndicates have been welcomed in Australia.
Aon Carrier Link, which is expected to begin in the first quarter of next year, will open a distribution channel connecting syndicates with the broker’s worldwide retail network.
Aon has also announced a new treaty-based approach, Aon Client Treaty, offering pre-secured co-insurance capacity to clients with eligible placements.
Lloyd’s General Representative in Australia Chris Mackinnon told insuranceNEWS.com.au the link could have significant benefits here.
“The proposed strategy is about improving access for their retail operation to the Lloyd’s market,” he said. “For us that’s a great thing; it suits us down to the ground. It is early days, but we will be watching it closely to see how it pans out.
“We believe we stand to be a beneficiary of the new approach here in Australia.”
