Lloyd’s underwriters have introduced a cover for skilled migrants moving to Australia and New Zealand.

A product disclosure statement says Queensland-based ASR Underwriting Agencies has been authorised to issue the Migration Cover products.

The policies cover temporary and permanent repatriation, employment advocacy and travel needs.

They are tailored to suit individuals and families preparing to move.

“It aims to provide a sense of security to those that may be worried about the migration process, or leaving family behind,” Migration Cover CEO Chris Galway said. “Put simply, the policy seeks to cover migrants who face barriers in their new host country.”

Annual premiums for a single cover range from $900 for a basic policy to $1687 for “platinum” protection. Premiums for a family range from $1490 to $2784.
