Lloyd’s parts ways with Asia-Pacific head
Lloyd’s has announced the departure of its Singapore-based Regional Head Asia-Pacific, Kent Chaplin.
Iain Ferguson, COO for Lloyd’s Japan, will take up the role on an interim basis.
Mr Chaplin, a New Zealander, has run Lloyd’s Asia-Pacific operations since 2011. Prior to that he was head of claims in London.
Lloyd’s says the change is part of its plan to “streamline the operating model in the region, leading to the creation of One Asia – an organisational design that incorporates the current Asia-Pacific countries as well as Greater China”.
The search for a regional director of Asia-Pacific and Greater China is under way, ahead of Lloyd’s China CEO Eric Gao’s retirement at the end of this year.
