Lloyd’s Australia MD Adrian Humphreys will join major broker group Steadfast in January as GM Business Development.

He will report to COO Dana Williams but have a “dotted line” relationship with MD and CEO Robert Kelly.

“He will be working very closely with our COO, but he can talk to me whenever he needs to,” Mr Kelly told insuranceNEWS.com.au.

“This was a position we have had other people in the organisation doing, but they have been reallocated and it has opened up an opportunity to bring in someone of Adrian’s capabilities.”

Mr Humphreys is well known within UK and Australian insurance markets, having run the Lloyd’s Australia operation for more than four years.

In that time the business has grown from $1.1 billion to more than $2 billion and the number of agencies using Lloyd’s capital has increased from 85 to 120.

Before moving to Australia Mr Humphreys worked for Lloyd’s in London and for Aon UK.

He starts the role on January 19 and will have responsibility for working with Steadfast network brokers to improve operations.
