Lloyd’s advertises locally for new Australia chief
Lloyd’s Australia has advertised for a new MD based in Sydney. The role has previously been filled from among its London management group.
The chosen candidate will replace Adrian Humphreys, who is leaving after four years to join Steadfast as GM Business Development.
Lloyd’s says it is seeking an Australian representative to develop and protect its licence and brand.
Reporting to Singapore-based Head of Asia-Pacific Kent Chaplin, the position involves managing relationships with brokers, underwriting agencies, service providers and regulators, overcoming barriers to placing business with Lloyd’s and identifying commercial opportunities.
“This role will appeal to a dynamic, outgoing, strategically minded general insurance professional with exceptionally strong presentation skills and an established broker and insurer network, who enjoys building a positive profile for their company,” Lloyd’s says.
insuranceNEWS.com.au asked Lloyd’s head office in London if it is the first time Lloyd’s has advertised locally for an Australian chief, but a spokesman declined to comment, saying Lloyd’s does not comment on ongoing recruitment processes.
The closing date for applications is December 11. The advertisement can be viewed here.
