Liberty’s commercial insurance arm rebrands
Liberty International Underwriters last week started trading in Australia as Liberty Specialty Markets.
The change comes as US parent Liberty Mutual Group moves to unify its commercial insurance operations under one brand.
The rebrand also involves entities in Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia. Operations in Bermuda and Latin America also recently moved to the new name.
The Liberty Specialty Markets division is based in London.
“Our global regions already work closely together,” Sydney-based President Asia-Pacific Mike Abdallah said. “Coming together as one global brand now makes the breadth of our international business clearer and means we’re working with clients as one brand across all major markets.
“Many of our product lines are already global offerings… We often support clients with more complex multinational operations, so this brand alignment makes us more unified and easier to do business with.”
The rebrand comes as Liberty celebrates two decades of operations in this region.
“Consistency is key for us, and the foundations we’ve put in place stay the same,” Mr Abdallah said.
The name change will not affect the Liberty Global Transaction Solutions brand.
An interview with Mr Abdallah features in the current issue of Insurance News magazine.
