Liberty International Underwriters (LIU) is to expand its Asia-Pacific surety operations.

Mike Carr has been appointed Senior Underwriter in Sydney, having spent the past seven years with Liberty Mutual Surety in the US.

He will report to National Surety Manager Jonathan Griffiths.

LIU has been writing surety bonds and guarantees in Asia-Pacific for more than 10 years and has direct issuance capability in Sydney, Perth and Singapore.

“The addition of Mike to the underwriting team will further strengthen our ability to service new and existing clients,” Mr Griffiths said.
