Expanding underwriting agency Lawsons has opened an office in Brisbane.

Director Kevin Corkery says the new office will be run by underwriter Nathan Sommer, who has joined Lawsons from ASR Underwriting.

Mr Corkery says the office is an extension of Lawsons’ existing business, and will operate in its established niches of labour hire and recruitment, group training and contracting insurance.

He says the business has been looking to establish a Brisbane office for “quite a while”, but was “waiting for the right person to become available”.

Mr Corkery says the company continues to look for growth opportunities around the country.

In addition to Brisbane, Lawsons operates from its base in Perth, with other offices in Sydney, Melbourne and Hobart.
