Johns Lyng extends repair deal with WA insurer

Building services provider Johns Lyng Group has extended a home repair agreement with a major WA-based insurer for a further five years.

The contract, to provide domestic repair work on up to 1000 properties a quarter, follows a successful initial agreement period during the whole of 2019. It covers both business-as-usual claims and those made during peak events such a storms and floods.

The new agreement, which began on New Year’s Day, includes a provision to extend for a further year.

CEO Scott Didier said Johns Lyng has generated strong organic growth in local WA job volumes.

“We’re pleased that our hard work has been acknowledged through this new contract and we’re thrilled to partner with one of WA’s leading and most trusted insurers,” he said.

Weather-related claims activity is increasing nationwide, with Johns Lyng responding to peak hailstorms in Kambalda, Coolgardie and Kalgoorlie in the past two years. Company crews are currently busy in Karratha following Cyclone Damien, and in Perth following February storms.

Johns Lyng started fiscal 2020 well and remains on track to meet its forecast of around 30% growth in underlying revenue, he said.
