JLT names new country chairman

JLT Australia has appointed Executive Director André Louw as its new Chairman.

The former professional and public liability lawyer joined the company 13 years ago to establish a specialty financial lines practice.

Mr Louw is Chairman of JLT’s Australian financial lines group, and will retain responsibility for the group in his new role.

He has previously served as head of the NSW corporate segment, MD of JLT Australia’s risk management consultancy Echelon and chairman of the group’s business development function.

JLT Australia and New Zealand CEO Leo Demer says Mr Louw is a “deep strategic thinker and hands-on team player” who is “respected across the industry”.

Mr Louw says he looks forward to contributing to “further growth and success”.

His appointment follows the death of former chairman Steve Ball in May.
