JLT extends rehab reach through WA acquisition

JLT Australia has acquired Perth-based occupational rehabilitation services company Workwise Occupational Health for an undisclosed sum.

The acquisition will join the WA branch of JLT’s national Recovre network.

JLT bought Recovre Group, a workplace health, safety and rehab services company, in March last year.

That acquisition – plus JLT’s earlier purchase, the Workstreams rehab business in NSW and Victoria – gave JLT a national presence in the workplace rehab business.

JLT Australia and New Zealand CEO Leo Demer says Workwise is a “strong, complementary addition” to the Recovre network.

“The Workwise team runs a very impressive business, delivering positive outcomes for clients in WA.

“We are happy to welcome them into our family, extending our reach and relevance to clients both in WA and nationwide.”

Mr Demer told insuranceNEWS.com.au Workwise will retain its own branding for now.

“Workwise is such a strong brand in WA. We’ll be integrating [Recovre and Workwise] down the track at the appropriate time.”

Workwise founder and CEO Damian Broderick will remain with the company.

“Damian is an outstanding asset for us,” Mr Demer told insuranceNEWS.com.au.

Mr Broderick says the move creates “a fantastic opportunity for our clients and for our people”.

“By combining our specialist capability and market-leading consultants with JLT’s world-class risk management expertise, we create an exciting new potential to build our business in WA.”
