Insurers listed as top choices for women
Insurers Allianz Australia, RACV and medical indemnity insurer Avant have been named employers of choice for women by a Federal Government agency.
The Equal Opportunity for Women in the Workplace Agency has recognised 111 Australian organisations for their progressive stance on female employment conditions.
Allianz MD Terry Towell says he’s proud to accept the award. “Companies need to address gender diversity as a business issue and CEOs ignore it at their company’s peril.”
To be named an employer of choice for women employers must meet strict criteria such as minimum maternity leave provisions, flexible work arrangements and a minimum pay discrepancy threshold between male and female workers.
Allianz initiatives include a “global diversity council” charged with enhancing diversity among employees and customers.
