Insurance House wins physios’ PI business
Insurance House Group has won a contract to provide professional indemnity cover for the Australian Physiotherapy Association, taking the endorsement from Guild Insurance.
The association’s 14,000 physios will have the legally required insurance included with their membership. The cover is underwritten by Lloyd’s.
Insurance House Director Gary Gribbin told insuranceNEWS.com.au that allied healthcare professions are expanding as the population ages.
Former Guild GM David Brown joined Insurance House last year.
Guild Insurance CEO Mario Pirone says the company continues to insure more than 9000 physios on an individual-policy basis, so it has a direct relationship with clients.
He says Guild has a leading position in cover, price, service and track record in risk management and providing legal advice.
Meridian Lawyers, which is majority-owned by Guild, handles most physio claims in Australia.
Meanwhile, Insurance House has also negotiated professional indemnity cover with Lloyd’s for Boutique Financial Planning Principals Group, whose members are non-aligned and independently owned businesses.
