IAG pushes forward with Indonesia plans

IAG is a step closer to its ambition of breaking into the Indonesian market, with the insurer opening a representative office in Jakarta.

A spokesman says the recently opened office, which is staffed by one full-time employee, will “explore opportunities in the country”.

IAG CEO Mike Wilkins recently revealed the company is in talks with potential joint venture partners in Indonesia.

The move is part of the company’s Asian strategy, which it sees as a key avenue for growth.

IAG current operates, mainly via joint ventures, in Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, India and China.
