IAG Group Executive Strategy and Corporate Development David Harrington will step down at the end of next month.

His departure was announced last week by the insurer, and is the second in nearly two weeks from the Group Leadership Team, which is responsible for risk management and internal control frameworks.

Group Executive Ben Bessell, who like Mr Harrington “has decided to leave”, will also serve his last day on March 31, the insurer had announced in an earlier statement.

Mr Harrington joined IAG in 2011 as GM for CGU’s Corporate Office, with responsibilities for the brand’s divisional strategy, risk and compliance, brand and corporate communications, legal services and the CGU Foundation.

A spokesman for IAG told insuranceNEWS.com.au the business has not yet decided whether to search for a replacement to fill the role.
