IAG cuts SGIC costs… and staff
IAG is cutting costs by closing down its SGIC call centre in Adelaide and integrating their operations into IAG offices. By next month SGIC will operate from IAG networks in Perth, Brisbane and Sydney.
The move has resulted in the retrenchment of 55 Adelaide staff and has drawn some negative media attention.
SGIC State Manager Ray Pederick’s pledge to “do everything [we] can to support them”, is little consolidation to the sacked staff, some of whom only completed their training last week.
