IAG has finalised its catastrophe reinsurance program for this year, securing gross reinsurance protection of $9 billion, up from $8 billion last year.

Underlying aggregate exposure is expected to show a modest increase in Australia and a 5% jump in New Zealand, the insurer says.

IAG says it experienced relatively flat reinsurance rates during the renewal process.
