IAG announces CGU head
IAG says Melbourne-based Damien Gallagher will lead its CGU business, reporting to Jarrod Hill who joins from Chubb in September to lead the insurer’s new Intermediated division.
The appointments come after CEO Nick Hawkins unveiled the split of the Australian business into two divisions, Intermediated and Direct, in November.
Mr Gallagher held senior positions at CGU for six years before becoming IAG’s EM Business Underwriting in late 2017.
Also in Mr Hill’s team is Sydney-based Brad Robson, who has been at IAG for more than six years, including as national head of Underwriting Agencies. Mr Robson will lead agency partnerships.
Melbourne-based Andrew Beer will lead IAG’s WFI business. He has been at the insurer for seven years, most recently heading AGRI and SME Solutions, and formerly spent more than a decade at CGU.
IAG says its new operating model provides greater clarity on roles and responsibilities while being more aligned to IAG brands and customer offerings.
Luke Boyle has been formally appointed EGM, Partners & Platforms, leading health, financial services and other partnerships. Before taking the role six months ago, he was IAG’s EM Distribution Partnering for three years.
Tim Rafton, who has spent around two decades at IAG, now heads Intermediated Claims.
