IAG adds experienced board member

Former KPMG partner JoAnne Stephenson will join the IAG board on May 12.

Her strengths in finance, accounting, risk management and governance “are critical to our efforts to retain a strong IAG board capable of guiding and supporting our business”, chair Tom Pockett says.

“She has extensive experience as a non-executive director, and as the chair and member of board committees across private and listed entities.”

Melbourne-based Ms Stephenson was a KPMG partner for 17 years and was previously chair at Myer Holdings and the Major Transport Infrastructure Board (Victoria).

She is a director at Challenger, Qualitas, Helia Group, Estia Investments and Lifestyle Communities, and was formerly on the boards of GE Insurance, Asaleo Care and Japara Healthcare.

Her fellow IAG non-executive directors are Simon Allen, David Armstrong, Helen Nugent, Scott Pickering, George Savvides, George Sartorel, Wendy Thorpe and Michelle Tredenick. Jon Nicholson retired as a director in October after almost a decade in the role.
