Humphreys to stay on in Australia for Lloyd’s

Lloyd’s Australian General Representative Adrian Humphreys will remain in the position for a further two years, after having his contract extended.

Mr Humphreys, who has been with Lloyd’s since 2007, replaced Keith Stern as General Representative for Australia in mid 2010, and is now contracted in the role until July 31, 2015.

He told insuranceNEWS.com.au he has “very much enjoyed” his stint in Australia.

“I am grateful for having the opportunity to work within such an entrepreneurial and innovative market place for at least another two years.”

Mr Humphreys says Lloyd’s local gross written premium has increased from $1.1 billion to $2.05 billion during his time as Australian General Representative. This means Australia has overtaken Canada as Lloyd’s third-largest market.

“Being the third-largest territory for us (in terms of premium) globally behind the US and UK makes Australia a very significant part of our business,” he said.
