Specialty insurer HDI Global has appointed two senior aviation underwriters in Australia as it aims to become a major aviation insurance provider to the local market.

Dylan Jones, a commercial pilot, will be based in Brisbane. Mr Jones has 14 years’ aviation insurance experience in both broking and underwriting, most recently at Swiss Re.

Chris Rose, formerly aviation expert at QBE, recently moved to HDI’s Melbourne office.

“Our focus is on developing key relationships and leveraging our competitive advantage in the current hardening market conditions,” said Jamie Bowes, Head of Aviation at HDI Global Specialty SE Australia.
