HDI Gerling rebrand reflects global mindset
German industrial lines insurer HDI-Gerling has rebranded as HDI Global SE.
MD of Australian operations Stefan Feldmann told insuranceNEWS.com.au the name change reflects the “rising global profile of the company”.
"The new name is considerably easier to use for our customers and brokers in Australia and New Zealand,” he said. “Almost 60% of our premium volume is generated in foreign markets, and that trend is rising.”
Christian Hinsch, the Deputy Chairman of parent Talanx Group, says the rebrand is an “important milestone” in the company’s history of more than 100 years.
HDI Global SE employs more than 3000 staff around the world and had premium volume of about €4 billion ($6.12 billion) in 2014.
