Gow-Gates app helps tackles rugby risk

Gow-Gates Insurance Brokers has partnered with the Australian Rugby Union (ARU) to produce a free iPhone app that helps club administrators make their sport safer.

The Rugby Risk Management tool helps clubs efficiently identify, assess, quantify, manage and monitor risks on match days, by using a safety checklist.

Clubs can also use the app to upload photos of perceived safety issues, such as pitch damage or extreme weather conditions.

ARU GM Community Rugby and Participation Growth Andrew Larratt says club volunteers have called for user-friendly tools to make administration easier and more efficient.

“Our volunteer club administrators are the backbone of rugby in this country, so it’s wonderful to be able to offer them a new level of support through this app,” he said.

Gow-Gates Sports and Services Team Manager Brett Duprez says the tool simplifies “the identification, analysis and mitigation of risks”, and shows a commitment to innovation.

The app is available from the iTunes store, or by clicking here.
