Genworth names new risk chief

Genworth Australia has appointed Andrew Cormack as Chief Risk Officer (CRO), effective from October 1.

He takes over from Conor O’Dowd, who will assume the role of Chief Actuary for the company.

Mr Cormack is currently the London-based CRO for Genworth Financial’s mortgage insurance business in Europe.

He has more than 20 years’ experience in insurance, including more than 16 years in various senior roles with Genworth’s European mortgage insurance business.

“We are pleased to have [Mr Cormack] join us as CRO given his extensive experience with mortgage insurance and his diverse background in various senior leadership roles,” CEO and MD Ellie Comerford said. “Andrew joins us at a time when continued vigilance on risk management is top of mind for us and for our lender customers.”

Mr Cormack will relocate to Sydney for his new role.
