Reinsurance broker Guy Carpenter has appointed Tony Gallagher as Pacific Region CEO, based in Sydney.

Mr Gallagher has worked in reinsurance for 17 years – including in the UK and Japan – and was previously Gen Re’s client service manager for treaty in Australia and New Zealand.

He replaces Christian Schirmer, who has left the company, and will report to CEO Asia-Pacific James Nash.

Mr Gallagher’s task is to position Guy Carpenter as the premier reinsurance provider in the Pacific region, Mr Nash says.
