Merger and acquisition specialist Fusion Specialty has launched in the UK, with the Australia-founded managing general agency (MGA) looking to build its global presence after expanding to the US in May.

Managing Partner Josh Cowen and Partner Samuel Shirley will spearhead Fusion Specialty UK, the company says in a statement.

The two men worked previously at Aviva – Mr Cowen as head of M&A underwriting and Mr Shirley as a senior underwriter.

“Building on the momentum of our launch in the US and our reputation as the leading small to mid-size M&A transactions insurer in [the] Asia Pacific, our entrance into the London market marks an important step in Fusion Speciality’s growth and global ambition,” co-founders and Executive Partners David Rogers and Killian McDermott said.

“Fusion is now the first global M&A MGA, with a local presence to serve the M&A ecosystem in each key M&A region.”

The UK arm will offer its M&A Insurance online product Mio, warranties & indemnities and a broader range of M&A solutions designed specifically for lower, mid-market M&A transactions.
