FUIA, Cinesure unite under Sura brand

Austagencies has brought its film, television and entertainment businesses together under the Sura brand.

The consolidation of Film Insurance Underwriting Agencies (FIUA) and Cinesure to form Sura Film and Entertainment is the latest in a series of brand changes aimed at simplifying the range of services the company offers.

Austbrokers-owned Austagencies has already used the Sura brand to unify underwriting agencies specialising in hospitality, travel, accident and health, professional risks, commercial, labour hire, engineering, construction and taxis.

Sura Film and Entertainment MD Joe Lo Surdo joined Austagencies in February 2012 when it acquired FIUA, where he had worked for more than 23 years.

He says adoption of the Sura brand to combine the FIUA and Cinesure businesses is “a logical way of achieving economies of scale”.

“There are a lot of advantages, particularly in terms of broker support,” he told insuranceNEWS.com.au. “FIUA has been the market leader through Australasia for many years, and this will help us consolidate our position in the market.”

Austagencies Brand and Marketing Manager Denver Van Gramberg says the rollout of the Sura brand is continuing, with several more agencies to be launched before the end of the year.

“The agencies marketplace is crowded, and to make life easier for our brokers it makes sense to present the products we offer in a way that’s as clear and succinct as possible,” he told insuranceNEWS.com.au.
