Former Insurance Council of Australia (ICA) CEO Alan Mason has been appointed to the board of insurer Auto & General (A&G).

Mr Mason worked at ICA for 15 years and was CEO from 1997 to 2005.

A&G Chairman Donald Campbell says the appointment of the industry veteran was a significant attainment for the board, which would benefit greatly from Mr Mason’s experience and knowledge.

A&G is part of the South African-owned Budget Insurance Group, which also operates in the UK and South Africa. In Australia it offers insurance services through Budget Direct, Australia Post, Virgin Money and GE Money.
