Former CGU chief Mario Pirone has been appointed MD of the Guild Group, the Pharmacy Guild of Australia’s specialised insurance, financial, and professional services company.

Mr Pirone, who was CEO at CGU from 2004 to February last year, will take up the Melbourne-based post on October 19. The business includes direct insurer Guild Insurance, two superannuation funds, financial planning, life risk advice, financing, legal and accounting services.

He replaces Brian Benger, who is retiring.
