Everest Insurance, the primary insurance division of New York-listed Everest Re Group, says Christian Colombera will assume the role of Australia MD & Head of the Pacific Region, pending regulatory approval. 

His appointment follows the announcement that Timothy Powell is succeeding him as Head of Financial Lines based in London. 

Everest Insurance did not respond to a request for comment about Mr Colombera’s new role and the size of its business in Australia. 

The business says Mr Powell brings more than three decades of experience to Everest’s Financial Lines portfolio, including from his earlier stint at Allianz Australia. 

“[His] calibre of talent and expertise is exactly what Everest needs to best support our clients and drive growth in key business lines and geographies,” Everest Insurance President and CEO Mike Karmilowicz said. 

“Financial Lines is the lifeblood of our international business, and given the complexities of the financial services market, we have brought on a strong leader whose deep expertise will evolve our portfolio for the future.”
