Emergence tweaks policy to include ‘cyber terror’

Specialist underwriting agency Emergence has amended its cyber event protection policy to ensure a terrorism exclusion will not apply.

It means the agency can now move quickly to assist brokers and clients affected by cyber events such as crimeware attacks, online espionage, extortion and app attacks.

“We’ve listened to brokers and changed our position to ensure cover is available,” Head of Underwriting and Product Development Jeff Gonlin said.

“We wanted to clearly articulate what our terrorism exclusion will not apply to and provide certainty for brokers and their clients that Emergence will respond to cyber terrorism events.”
