Specialist cyber underwriting agency Emergence has updated its policy document to expand coverage in response to growing digital threats.

Under the upgrades, jurisdiction cover applies globally except in the US, the business interruption time excess has been cut to 12 hours from 24 and limits for cyber theft have been raised to $1 million.

Other additions include enhanced multimedia liability cover, recognition that ransoms may be paid in digital currencies and greater clarity on what is included in IT infrastructure.
