Ebix chief d'Apice recovering after bike accident

Ebix Australia MD Leon d’Apice is recovering from injuries suffered in a serious mountain biking accident in late February.

“We know that many people will be thinking of Leon and his family during this time, and we can assure you that Leon is approaching his recovery with his normal gusto and determination,” Senior Vice President Asia Pacific Graham Prior said in a statement provided to insuranceNEWS.com.au.

Mr d’Apice, who is also Executive Vice-President International for Ebix, is responsible for its business operations in Australia, New Zealand and Asia.

Robin Raina, Chairman, President, and CEO of US-based Ebix, says the company has a management team in place that will ensure the smooth running of the business while Mr d’Apice is recovering.

Mr d’Apice has been managing Ebix Australia since 1996, when his part-owned company Complete Broking Systems was acquired by Ebix, which went on to acquire Telstra’s Sunrise Exchange transaction platform and other insurance-related IT assets.
