Dual set for Hong Kong launch

Dual International will expand its professional lines business into Hong Kong in July.

The underwriting agency intends to roll out its full policy suite into the market, including professional indemnity, directors’ and officers’, financial institutions and IT.

Dual Australia MD Damien Coates, who will head up the new Asia-Pacific operation, says the agency will be looking for immediate growth.

“We see Asia as a significantly undeveloped market,” he told insuranceNEWS.com.au. “We tend to grow quite rapidly and we’re looking at doing the same in Asia.”

The expansion into Asia is being funded by Dual International’s arrangement with venture capital group 3i. Arch Insurance Europe, which provides capacity for all Dual business outside Australia, will underwrite the policies.
