Underwriting agency Dual Australia has signed a deal with Lloyd’s syndicate Markel to expand its Lloyd’s capacity.

Markel Syndicate 3000 will become co-insurer with Arch Syndicate 2012 for Dual Australia’s accident and health capacity arrangements.

Arch previously provided 100% of Dual’s underwriting capacity, but under the new agreement for expanded capacity with Markel Arch will provide 80% and Markel the rest.

The new deal is effective for all policies written on or after October 1 2011.

MD Damien Coates says the new partnership will allow Dual Australia to expand from its core financial lines products.
