Dual adds new capacity providers
Underwriting agency Dual has added Barbican and Liberty to its stable of capacity providers for its global financial lines portfolio.
They join existing capacity providers Arch, Hiscox and MSIG on the portfolio from today.
The company says depending upon the regulatory environment in which the capacity is deployed it may be provided as reinsurance or via a Lloyd’s syndicate operation.
In Australia, the local operation is entirely supported by Lloyd’s syndicates, with Liberty and Barbican joining existing capacity providers Arch and Hiscox, Dual Australia MD Peter Bailey told insuranceNEWS.com.au.
Mr Bailey says the new capacity providers will enable the local business to “expand its product range and footprint”.
MSIG will provide capacity for the company’s Asian operations, based in Singapore and Hong Kong.
Dual International CEO Damien Coates says the new capacity providers will allow the company to broaden its geographic footprint and product growth and “brings further balance to our business”.
“It is particularly important to us that insurers of the quality of Arch, Barbican, Hiscox, Liberty and MSIG see the strength in our technical distribution capability and growth plans,” Mr Coates said.
“Alongside our expansion into other product lines such as general liability, financial lines continues to represent our core expertise and the significant part of our business.”
Dual has also appointed reinsurance broker Beach & Associates as broker on its global financial lines portfolio.
