Deloitte has jettisoned the Trowbridge name eight years after Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu’s local actuarial business merged with Trowbridge Consulting.

Deloitte Actuaries and Consultants will form part of the professional services company’s 600-strong global actuarial and insurance solutions practice.

Trowbridge Deloitte’s rebranding as Deloitte Actuaries and Consultants is “the culmination of an eight-year process of building specialist capability”, says Managing Partner Andrew Gale.

John Trowbridge – who is in the second year of a three-year term as APRA Executive Member – founded Trowbridge Consulting in 1981 after an extensive career in the public and private sector at the Commonwealth Treasury and QBE.

Mr Trowbridge stayed with Trowbridge Deloitte for two years following the merger before joining Suncorp as Group Executive, General Insurance.
