DCS opens Brisbane office to handle property

Claims services company DCS has opened its second Australian office in Brisbane to cater to Queensland property clients.

Asia-Pacific MD Jon Sitwell told insuranceNEWS.com.au the new office marks the company’s expansion into handling property claims.

London-based DCS opened a Sydney office in 2005 and also has offices in Chicago and Hong Kong.

Mr Sitwell says the move into property was in response to requests from some of the London insurers it acts for in Australia, and is not a reaction to the string of disasters in Queensland earlier this year.

“The floods had been a focus for some of the London-based insurers we act for, but they are more looking at how we deal with future claims,” he said.

“Property is a new line of business for us in Australia, and the [property] team is Queensland-based, so it made sense to open the office there,” he said.

“Our professional indemnity and directors’ and officers’ business will remain in the Sydney office.”
