Coverhero adds new Lucci home insurance offer
Insurtech Coverhero is extending its range with a new home insurance offer called Lucci which uses 3D aerial imaging of properties to immediately provide tailored, real-time policies. Every Lucci policy will also offset at least 11 tonnes of carbon emissions, allowing customers to manage their carbon footprint.
Lucci sales are scheduled to kick off in the third quarter.
Coverhero, which offers Hustle-brand gig workers' income protection, says Lucci’s unique and convenient use of aerial imaging in insurance is “a game changer to an industry that suffers from inaccurate assessments of risks and value that account for more than 80% of underinsured or over insured properties”.
“Lucci is not only instant and incredibly accurate, it also helps businesses scale-up and grow their customer base by fully digitalising and embedding insurance” CEO and founder of Coverhero Naby Mariyam said.
“We’re keen to talk to more distribution partners from banking, real estate and the mortgage industry who can all leverage Lucci to deliver competitive advantage and improve customer experiences.”
Powered by Cloud Cover and Smart Underwriting Engine, the product instantly detects risks such as fire and flood or whether a property has a pool or trampoline. Coverhero estimates this data-driven approach could save the industry $16 billion a year in loss adjustments.
Coverhero says it challenges the status quo and its vision is to “transform and build the kind of insurance that is relevant for our generation and simple to understand”.
