Travel insurer Cover-More has introduced free pre-travel phone consultations with GPs to help policyholders plan healthy holidays.

The doctor will undertake a full assessment that covers medical history, travel plans and destinations, and will devise a complete plan of care with recommended immunisations, vaccines and medical kit essentials.

The GP will also issue any required prescriptions and refer customers to their regular GPs if necessary.

The service expands on Cover-More’s Travel GP program, which provides travellers with round-the-clock access to Australian doctors via phone or video.
