Zurich-owned travel insurer Cover-More has acquired a majority stake in data analytics company FitSense.

A spin-off enterprise from the National University of Singapore, FitSense leverages health and fitness data from connected devices to support customised insurance products.

Cover-More Group CEO Mike Emmett says FitSense enables the delivery of “highly customised and highly optimised insurance solutions in real time”.

FitSense will operate as a standalone entity and work with other insurers where it makes commercial sense.

Co-founder and CEO of FitSense Jan-Philipp Kruip says the technology has broad application across all forms of insurance including travel, health, life and income protection.

FitSense is relocating from Singapore to a new base in Sydney.
