CommInsure signs up to UN investment principles

The Commonwealth Bank’s insurance arm CommInsure has signed the United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment.

CommInsure MD Simon Swanson told insuranceNEWS.com.au the recent turmoil in the economy and investment markets prompted the company to sign up to the principles without delay.

“This is a great framework which puts environmental, social and corporate governance issues into a broader investment research framework,” he said.

“It gives examples of good work around the globe, we are able to talk to people of similar ilk, and we are demonstrating that we are seriously committed to it and that we have really good standards and investment tools.”

CommInsure joins a number of local and international insurance companies on the UN list, including IAG and Zurich.
