In insuranceNEWS.com.au on November 1 we reported that John Neal is to assume a new role at QBE under which the group’s divisional CEOs, Global Head of Distribution, Group Actuarial Officer, Group Chief Risk Officer and Group Human Resources would report to him.

QBE has contacted us to say these groups will in fact report to Mr Neal only on matters related to underwriting.

The group’s statement to the Australian Securities Exchange used the phrase “relating to the role’s responsibilities”, which was interpreted by our reporter to mean the divisions would be reporting to Mr Neal regarding their own responsibilities.
