Chubb rings changes as Asia-Pacific head moves up

Chubb has made changes at the top in its Asia-Pacific operation, with Marcos Gunn replacing Paul McNamee as regional president.

“Marcos is an outstanding executive with a long track record of success with our company,” chairman and CEO Evan Greenberg said. “He is .. one of the most creative and entrepreneurial insurance executives I know. He combines a deep knowledge of underwriting, marketing and technology.”

Mr Gunn will have responsibility for the general insurance business in Australia, New Zealand and 11 other markets.

He was most recently senior VP of Chubb Group and regional president for Latin America, based in Miami. He will move to Singapore for his new posting and will report to Mr McNamee, who is moving to New York as EVP of Chubb Group and president of overseas general insurance.

Mr McNamee was appointed to lead the Asia-Pacific business in 2016. Before that, he was deputy regional president and EVP for commercial property and casualty in Asia-Pacific.

In New York, he will report to the CEO, who called him a “tremendous” underwriter and business leader.

“It is a pleasure to appoint Paul to lead our international general insurance operations,” Mr Greenberg said. “I have worked closely with Paul for many years and watched him grow into a great executive.

“Through his years of experience, he has acquired a great ability to manage a wide variety of commercial and consumer businesses across countries and cultures. He finds a way to win.”
