CGU has appointed a high-ranking UK industry marketing executive to replace GM Retail John Evans when he retires early next year.

Mark Searles is moving from Zurich Financial Services UK to take up the Melbourne-based posting. His roles at Zurich UK have included Chief Marketing Officer and Head of Channel Marketing for Europe.

He is also a former executive of British Airways and banks Lloyds TSB and HSBC.

CGU says Mr Searles brings “a strong background in both insurance and leading high performance businesses” to the commercial insurance specialist.

Mr Searles is due to clock in at William St on May 17, while Mr Evans will remain at CGU until his full retirement early next year.
