Cerno unveils new IT platform
Loss adjuster Cerno has launched its new technology platform, AcClaim.
The first claims are being entered into the system, which is a collaboration with Stream Group and developer Insurtech that follows Stream’s investment in Cerno earlier this year.
“We now have a cloud-based, fully mobile IT platform that enables loss adjusters and independent building consultants, suppliers, builders, policyholders, insurers and, soon, intermediaries to collaborate on a single claim in real time,” Cerno MD Tony Button said.
The use of video means suppliers will, in most cases, no longer need to physically inspect damage. The company says claims can be independently validated, scoped, tendered and authorised in as little as 24 hours.
“This type of forward-thinking investment and a desire to improve the way claims are managed across the industry involves substantial investment in systems, processes, training and skills,” Mr Button said.
“Consequently, many costs are incurred well before the benefits begin to flow.
“We are very excited to be at this point prior to the onset of the catastrophe season, which is expected to be quite active.”
