Calliden will directly handle commercial claims after reviewing claims-handling arrangements with its joint venture partner, Claims Services Australia (CSA.) 

By the end of June, Calliden will manage all commercial property claims for commercial package, farm (excluding motor) and construction.

CSA will continue to manage all motor and domestic insurance claims and all claims for Queensland Underwriting Solutions, except for large losses over an agreed amount.

It will also continue to manage all personal accident claims for Sports Underwriting Australia as well as Mansions of Australia and builders’ warranty claims.

Calliden Executive Claims, Strategy and Planning Simone Dossetor says the capabilities and infrastructure required to manage commercial claims are different, “and the time is right to retain and further develop this capability in-house”.

She says CSA has expertise and experience in handling high-volume, low-value claims and both parties agreed that CSA should focus on Calliden’s personal lines customers.
