Calliden buys motorcycle underwriter
Calliden Group subsidiary Dawes Underwriting Australia has acquired the portfolio of Arista Underwriting Agency, adding motorcycle insurance to existing prestige car lines.
Previous Arista owner IC Frith (Australia) agreed confidential terms with Dawes, which takes on about $1.7 million in gross written premium.
Calliden Group CEO Nick Kirk told insuranceNEWS.com.au it is an ideal bolt-on acquisition for the company, which previously underwrote Arista policies.
“It’s the fourth acquisition for us in the past few years, and we will continue to add capability where possible,” he said.
