Calliden buys builders’ warranty system
Calliden is taking full control of the Construction Insurance System (CIS) that it uses for builders’ warranty insurance.
The company has agreed in principle to buy the system from Sydney IT company Ellington Management and Information Services, which had decided it no longer wanted to operate the system.
Calliden Group Executive Marketing and Distribution Mike Hooton says Calliden will directly manage the CIS product, which is integral to how the company delivers builders’ warranty insurance through intermediaries.
“This is another sign that we are serious about this particular market,” he told insuranceNEWS.com.au.
Calliden provides domestic builders’ warranty insurance in Victoria, builders’ indemnity insurance in SA and builders’ indemnity insurance in WA through intermediaries. In NSW it operates as an agency of the state government scheme for builders’ warranty insurance underwritten by the NSW Self Insurance Corporation.
